An early pick-up is only miserable when it ambushes you. A little preparation the evening before removes almost all of the pain:
- Ask reception about a breakfast box. Many hotels on this coast will prepare one for excursion guests if you ask the evening before — don't leave it until dawn.
- Pack the night before. Towels, swimwear, sun cream, a light layer for the morning air, and any medication — laid out and ready.
- Be in the lobby a few minutes before your confirmed window. The driver is working through a full list of hotels against a fixed harbour departure; a guest who is ready protects everyone's morning.
- Keep your phone on and charged. If anything shifts, the day-before confirmation and any updates reach you there.
